The Theo Ratliff Activity Center sponsors a Life Skills
Training program developed by Dr. Gilbert J. Botvin, a
psychologist at Cornell University. The Life Skills
Training Program is an exciting program that educates against the
use of: tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. This is an ongoing
program that will teach our youth to:
1. Increase self-esteem
2. Increase ability to make good and informed
decisions and to be come better problem solvers
3. Communicate effectively
4. Avoid misunderstandings
5. Manage anxiety
6. Make new friends
7. Stand up for what is right
8. Say "No" to unfair requests
9. Resist advertising pressures
10. Resist pressure to use drugs
